Chihiro Ishino Photo Exhibition

16 Posted by Hello

Today, I went shopping to Daikanyama, Shimokitazawa, Shibuya and Harajyuku with my friend. In Harajyuku, we went to NALU, café, and see Photo Exhibition taken by Chihiro Ishino. Now she majors in photography at University and occasionally participates actively as a model in some magazine.
Before I went to the café, I’d thought another type of photos but it wasn’t. Her photo was like drawing, and cherishes soft light and color. Her red was especially beautiful.
After her graduation, she plans to go London to study photography. I thought, to go to London, her picture-postcard photo will be more characteristically and have more beautiful color.
Her exhibition will be end 12/30, so if you plan to go Harajyuku, you must go!
If you have some interests to her, go to her web site. At the site, you’ll be able to see prettier photos. http://www.geocities.jp/ciiciic/

I posted some of her pictures.↓

MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

xmas Posted by Hello

Merry Christmas! How are you spending? I’m looking forward to receiving a gift from Santa…Joking aside, when I was a child I had really believed that Santa existed as other people used to. Is there anyone who wrote a letter for him? I did. “Hello Santa, Please give me a gift! Let me see…I want a Doll!”
By the way can you remember why you doubt his being? Almost Children doubt at least he or she is six years old. Some of my friends said “I saw dad come into my room and laid a gift. So there is no Santa Crouse! ” This is the largest trigger, I think. From this conversation, some child who still believe Santa doubt him and this pervasive among children. I can’t how was it in my case, but anyway, we know there is no Santa Crouse at last.
But at the same time, we lose out! If we knew that fact and told mother or father about that, we might never get a gift from Santa. So I’d like to say to children in the world, if you wanna get one more gift, you must NOT told parent “I did find Santa! You are Santa, aren’t you?”

LEON

Natalie Portoman Posted by Hello

What are your most favorites? Watching movies, listening my favorite music and shopping are my interests. Today I want to talk you about movies.

I often see action, or SF movies but love romances. I don’t know why they are not my testes, but they are really boring for me. One of my favorite movies is LEON”(1994: US Jean Reno, Natalie Portman, Gary Oldman).

The plot is …
Mathilda (Natalie Portman), a twelve years old girl, was living a flat. Her father stored drugs for the cop, Norman Stansfield (Gary Oldman). Though he was a narcotics agent (it’s a kind of cop, who finds drug or people on drugs and arrest them), Stan was a people on drugs by misusing his position. Only did her biological brother can make her happy in her non-biological family. One day, Stan and his crew came to her house. He had known that her father had been using drugs that he stored for Stan. He came to house to kill her whole family. But She was out, so luckily could escape death. When she came back and noticed that her family was dead and they (Stan and his crew) were still in house. So she begged for her life to her neighbor, Leon (Jean Reno). In fact the neighbor was a cleaner, “hit man”. She noticed that and asked him to kill them for revenge…

This movie’s POI (places of interest) is cute (but sexy) Natalie, Gary’s acting and soundtrack.
She was mannish in spite of her age at that time. I can’t remember how old she was, but it’s true that her age was much younger than the Leon’ s crew had expected for the role.
And Gary Oldman was really perfect for the role. Because his role, narcotics agent, was a people on drugs, he freaked out and was cruel. If you see him, you’ll feel a cold chill for his perfect acting. Especially the scene that he used drugs (drop a bop) is worth seeing!
This move includes violence action (not just action movie) but I promise you’d love it if you see it!

A drama

I saw a drama, “8 femmes(8人の女たち),on December 10. Have you seen a movie with the same title as this one yet? That was a France movie. Catherine Deneuve was in it.
I have gone to see musical and opera before, but this is my first time to see a drama. So I was so excited to see it. What is the best point to see it is stage actress’ s feel and act. Their ways of standing, walking and sitting are very different. I felt them shining and bigger than other TV actress in the drama. The next time, I’d like to see a drama in which I can see swordfight! Let me see…how about going to see a “TANNGE SANNZEN”??

Foods in Nagasaki

What is it?Posted by Hello

First I want you to do a quiz. What do you think the picture is? I’ll answer this Question later. Hints? It’s a food!

I’ll show you about the continuation of school trip story. I ate so many delicious foods in Kyusyu. What I recommend is Chinese-style hotchpotch (Chanpon), Castella, ice cream and Umegaedamochi. They were really good!
If you are non-Japanese, you might think what is Chinese-style hotchpotch –Chanpon. This is known as a popular food of Nagasaki. It is like Chinese noodle but the kind of soup and noodle are little different and has a lot of vegetable. One Chinese developed the food. He came to Nagasaki and see a lot of Chinese international student had eaten poor food. So he developed nourishing, many vegetables, bellyful of and cheep food-it is the food that is Chanpon. This is the beginning of it. If you want to try it, go to “Kouzanro” (江山楼). The restaurant provides very palatable Chanpon.
Castella is also one of the popular foods in there. The best one is Fukusaya’s. The shop keep classic way of making them that is descended from Portuguese.
How is Umegaedamoti like? It is baked rice cake that has bean jam inside. It is homely taste. Surprisingly, It has already existed since 1000 years ago. It was in “A Collection of a Myriad Leaves-Manyo-syu”!

Have you found the Answer yet? It is ice cream!! Did you think how beautiful white rose it is, didn’t you. The name is “ Chirin Chirin Ice”. Taste is lightly seasoned. It’s street food and like gelato as well as vanilla ice cream or other white meat. But it seems that not everyone selling this Ice cream can make this shape. In all ages, it costs only 100yen! Too cheep!!

Do you feel trying some these foods now? I hope you do. If you go on a trip to Nagasaki, check this page and have as a nice foods trip as I did!

Fun fun fun!

Chinese-style hotchpotch ↑Posted by Hello

In my high school, we made a trip to Kyusyu from November 7 to 11. It was so delightful trip (especially second day in our trip was good). I’ll tell about the second day, free action day.
November 8 is fine day to go around Nagasaki city. My group was 8 people. First we went to Glover Gardens. There is the home of Thomas B. Glover who had come to Nagasaki as a trade interests. In the garden there are two special stones that are shape of heart. It is said that if you can find and touch them, your love will go well.
Then we went to glass shop, and experienced glass painting. My group’s people made pretty one (maybe I think our handiworks were better than any other glasses that was made by other people!)
Next place we went across a famous bridge, spectacled bridge, and visited temple, Koufukuji. The temple is location of the very famous movie, “Gege”(Takao Osawa, Yuriko Ishida). My friends take some photo sitting the chair that Takao or Yuriko sit on in the movie.
We had very late lunch in China town. I regretted it as leader. We had asked one of our schoolteacher (who is familiar with Nagasaki) that which is the best Chinese-style hotchpotch restaurant in there, so we could went to the restaurant without hesitating. After the dinner we roam in the town and some guys bought souvenirs.
This is what we did in Nagasaki (except foods). In this short trip, I really enjoy foreign culture in the city that descends from Portugal or Asia long time ago. If I had gone as a family trip, my feeling might been different. I think going with friends would make our trip more special.

Number “1”

tabuse

The NBA finally accepted Japanese player, Yuta Tabuse, on November 1(2 in Japan). THE PHONEIX SUNS announced that they enrolled him as a one of the twelve’s opening member. He became the first Japanese-born player in the history of the NBA. The short man who cross the sea to master basketball increasingly stanch out one giant step. It seems that he had aspired to becoming “a 8 minutes player”. In his first game on November 3, he did make a basket, seven points in 10 minutes!!
I don’t know about the NBA and basketball well and what I know about it is only I can’t walk having a ball in the game. But I really think we should be proud of his great glory. Today, more and more Japanese have gone overseas and have participated actively. Ichiro and Matsui are one of the good examples. They play a role to make people who live in foreign countries interested in Japan or Japanese.
I really hope their further good showing!

Where do you have lunch in Harajyuku?

FUJIMAMAS's delicious foods Posted by Hello

Do you know “FUJIMAMAS”? It’s a restaurant where we can eat fusion cuisine foods. Some of them are arranged to Asian food.
When I went there for the first time, I thought, “Where I am??” Because around our table there were a lot of foreigners and all the voice I could hear was only English!! Additionally clerks in the restaurant were almost foreigners too! What a nice restaurant it is, I thought before we ate their foods.
The food was so delicious and not so expensive. By only 1050yen we can eat Weekly Special Lunch Set or Curry (with drink and salad). And there are another delicious foods there. Their restaurant is less difficult to enter than any other café that is placed in fashion magazines. So when you go with your mother, I recommend you to go there.
If you go and eat, you’ll never forget FUJIMAMAS.

Dreamed a strange dream…

This is my old memory but it can be remembered well even now. When I was three or four years old, I saw a dream like this…

I was in the hotel lobby. There was no one and gloomy. In the lobby there were two stairs, one has narrow width and corner, I can’t see a next floor, and is the next to me. But I didn’t feel fear. After a period of time, a person who I know very well came in the lobby. He said to me “Would you come with me?” He was seemed to go up stairs, next to me. “No, I’ll wait for you here.” I said. “O.K.” he said and climbed up. Suddenly I feel so lonely and cry “ Wait, wait for me!!” But there was no answer. Then I turned back there were a snake and old woman in the rocking chair.

After a several years, the man died.Is this a prognostic dream? Or no related between them? I don’t know but if it is the latter, it is certain choosing not to follow him.

soya milk and vinegar

The person who saw this title would notice what I'm going to talk about. Both of them are related with losing weight. In the store, there are many drink or food, which hold them in it. For example, soya milk pudding (milk are replaced by soy milk) and much kind of vinegars, such as aromatic vinegar, cider vinegar and rice vinegar (and Kuro-Zu) are good example. They are remarkable these days and TV offices are treating them.
I watched Hakkutu Aruaru Daijitenn and know there are two type of man. One is the person who can lose weight better when she drink soya milk and the other is the person who cam lose weight better when she drink vinegar. I'm a vinegar person. So I have tried to drink it.
If you'd like to try soya milk for dieting, you should drink it before a meal. If you try vinegar, you should drink it after a meal. And remember, you must cut vinegar with water (1:5) I think the drink is not so good, so add honey a little and drink it!

Bowling for Columbine

Bowling for... Posted by Hello

I watched Bowling for Columbine for a few minutes on TV. Michael Moore is very popular with his comments. When he awarded Academy Awared two years ago(the year of 9.11), He said (to Bush)on the stage "Shame on you. Shame on you!!". This time is the first time to see his movie. I had thought the movie is nonfiction tale, but it isn't. It's a documentary movie!
The movie is so great. I thought it can be used for social or history class. It is enough easy and enterested for me (and even childlen) to know how is the American community like. If he is my history teacher, the class would be more exciting one.
Have you seen His latest movie, Fahrenheit 9/11, yet?? I haven't, because 1500yen is too high to see a documentary movie,I think. But I'd like to see it. If some one have seen it, please tell me your impression.

What I wear

3.jpg Posted by Hello

Today I watched DVD, Catch me if you can(Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks ). The movie is comedy touch but it tells me a lot of things. I’ll show you one of the example.
In the movie, Frank (main character) earns banker’s trust by putting on the uniform of PAN AMERIAN. What we wear is often used to know person’s information. Not to say uniforms, we judge person characteristics from clothes. If you wear clean clothes, you’ll not be seen you are strange individual. If you don’t, you’ll give bad impression to the people. Of course I do think it is not always correct. But if the person who is stranger talks to me, I have to judge the person is safe or dangerous. And it is the best way to do that. Anyway wearing clean clothes won’t make us so bad!

I have a healthy appetite!

These days, I always feel my mouth being hungry, not my stomachs whenever I do something (especially after 12 pooh). And I eat osenbe or cookies. What makes me so hungry?? Because this is a season of autumn eating, I feel like eating something?? Am I a big eater?? I don’t know, but there must be reason.
By the way, I found very appealing cheesecakes on the Internet. The cheesecakes are the best seller on Rakutenn Ichiba’s site. Added substance was not used in them and this is why the cake is so popular. In this site, we can order them. So if you are interested in, check this site, and you can eat the special cheesecakes!
