tabuse
The NBA finally accepted Japanese player, Yuta Tabuse, on November 1(2 in Japan). THE PHONEIX SUNS announced that they enrolled him as a one of the twelve’s opening member. He became the first Japanese-born player in the history of the NBA. The short man who cross the sea to master basketball increasingly stanch out one giant step. It seems that he had aspired to becoming “a 8 minutes player”. In his first game on November 3, he did make a basket, seven points in 10 minutes!!
I don’t know about the NBA and basketball well and what I know about it is only I can’t walk having a ball in the game. But I really think we should be proud of his great glory. Today, more and more Japanese have gone overseas and have participated actively. Ichiro and Matsui are one of the good examples. They play a role to make people who live in foreign countries interested in Japan or Japanese.
I really hope their further good showing!

I just read in a magazine a poll about America (the readers' opinions about America). One question was "Which Japanese (person) islikely to soon gain fame in the U.S.?" The number one response was Yuta Tabuse. I didn't know who he was until I read your post. Thanks!
By the way, did you hear about that awful news from the NBA? There was a kind of a riot -- a fight broke out between the fans and the players. I can't remember now which team it was. Disgraceful, don't you think?
